Chromebook is slow "lags" and randomly glitches
First, ensure that you don’t have too many tabs open at once and you have previously shutdown or reboot Chromebook.
Follow these steps below if Chromebook is still lagging:
- Keep the number of open tabs to a minimum, especially if you’re on a
Zoomsession or classes.
- If you’re using a school issued
Hotspot, make sure no other device(s) like
PlayStation(s)is connected to it except Chromebooks.
- Check for
Chrome OSupdates and install them if any.
- Disconnect Chromebook from
Hotspot, shut off Chromebook, reset your
Hotspot, turn on Chromebook again and connect back to
WIFI. See how to reset a Hotspot.
- Reboot your Chromebook often, don’t just close the lid, every night.
This issue may be common during a
Zoom session or class, learn how to fix Zoom lag issues*.
If you tried the above steps or don’t find this utterly helpful, you can still reset your Chromebook
[Chrome OS] and resolve
glitching issues with a power wash. Make sure the Chromebook is up-to-date* before proceeding with the power wash or reach out to a technician for further support. Perform a power wash.
