Zoom Camera is not working on Chromebook

First, ensure that you’re connected to a reliable and secure network, preferably a private network, home WIFI or school issued Hotspot.

On your Chromebook

Follow these steps below if Zoom camera isn’t working:

  1. Check to see if Chromebook is still connected to the Hotspot or WIFI.
  2. If you’re using a school issued Hotspot, make sure no other device(s) like TV, PlayStation(s) is connected to it except Chromebook(s).
  3. Check for Chrome OS updates and install them if any.
  4. Disconnect Chromebook from WIFI or Hotspot, shut off Chromebook, reset your Hotspot, turn on Chromebook again and connect back to Hotspot or WIFI. See how to reset a Hotspot.
  5. Ensure that Chromebook webcam is not tampered with, damaged or scratched.
  6. Ensure there is nothing obstructing the webcam view point.

Zoom Audio is not working on Chromebook

First, ensure that external audio devices like headphones is unplugged or disconnected.

Follow these steps below if Zoom Audio or mic isn’t working:

  1. Check to see if Chromebook is still connected to the Hotspot or WIFI.
  2. If you’re using airpods or a headphone, ensure that they are not damaged and they actually work.
  3. Check for Chrome OS updates and install them if any.
  4. Disconnect Chromebook from WIFI or Hotspot, shut off Chromebook, reset your Hotspot, turn on Chromebook again and connect back to Hotspot or WIFI. See how to reset a Hotspot.
  5. If you’re not using a headphone, ensure there is nothing obstructing the audio jack. e.g headphones stuck in audio jack.

If you tried the above steps or don’t find this utterly helpful, you can still reset your Chromebook [Chrome OS] and resolve camera or webcam issues with a power wash. Make sure the Chromebook webcam is not damaged or blocked before proceeding with the power wash or reach out to a technician for further support. Perform a power wash.
